The Monies
After reviewing the websites, I am even more perplexed than I was pre- Huffington Post website. It was ironic to me how one year a parishioner would donate to the Republican cause and the very next election the SAME individual would donate to the Democratic convention. I also recognized the names of streets lived on by the contributors. I didn't realize that citizens in my area were so active in the presidential elections as to where they provided funding. While driving in my Alief neighborhood I never notice picket yard signs, bumber stickers, t-shirts, or anything of supportive genre. However, I was not suprised to see the contributions of many Democratic supporters. The donators that contributed to the Republican system made considerably higher monitary amounts. Why is this? Is is true that Rebulbicans tend to be more wealthy than Democrats?

Republicans traditionally have drawn more of their support from upper income groups while Democrats have drawn more support from lower income groups. Obama has done an especially good job in raising lots of money through small contributions. The OepnSecrets.org site showed that 49% of Obama's money had come in contributions of $200 or less compared to 25% of McCain's money. McCain got 18% of his funds in contributions of $4,600 or more while only 6% of Obama's money came in the form of these larger contributions.
